The Remnant I Think | Farid Jafari Samarghandi | 2001 | Video, black and white, sound, 9:53 min.
This video produces abstract images using high contrast and unique details. It illustrates a confrontation between two opposing forces: white and black, good and evil. Essentially, it represents a mental struggle between remaining in one place and enduring suffering, or the sorrowful choice to migrate. The piece portrays a confused mind trapped in a solitary reality.

My boat is Broken | Farid Jafari Samarghandi | 2010 | Video Installation, Color, Sound | Fabric, Metal Cable, Clips
This is my portrait from March 2010, with a broken and stranded boat, like any others that became aground, their owners, their belongings, and their pride were sunk, shattered, and every time Shajarian sang, they sang along.
Only if there had been a moment to rest, we would have a tear in our eyes for those who lost for the country or who left and disappeared into the mist.

Video installation, Color, Stereo Sound | Bed sheet | Foldable Bed
Their eyes are waiting to sleep. They may turn to each other, fading away due to sleeplessness, slowly reaching a moment to rest.
Entangling and turning around each other, distancing, caressing, and being caressed. They may have become one in those bodies.
There are no three people closer than this, merging like ivy. Their thoughts are so distant from each other, stealing sleep from their eyes.
