Where
it all began
Room for doubt was born in Tehran, in Spring Summer 2022: It started as an artist-run temporary space, when a five-month window allowed us to keep having access to the former New Media Projects’ building in Downtown Tehran. In this time 11 events happened, and 2 sound residencies took place in the one-story building, using various spaces from the storage corridor connecting yard to the kitchen and from the entrance to the bedroom, which used to be our residency place.

Why
The concept was an easy-going conversation between host artist(s) and guests. The project was based on invitation and working together to provide space to test, examine redefine and extract archived works as well as new ones. The scale of the project and its requirements were often adjusted to pieces of equipment we had in our disposal and the human power and skills to realize it.
How it went...
Since May 2023, Room for doubt started a second life in Berlin and ever since has been collaborating with various spaces and initiatives in berlin and abroad: Studio One, Villa Kuriosum, Kotti-shop, Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg, Subkontinent in Berlin, Hinterland in Vienna, Sis Art Space in Bojnourd & The Other Side in Vantaa.
